EPW - Sauser, Chaux-de Fonds, Swiss, gold and enameled mandolin form watch with concealed dial, 62mm length x 26mm width at widest point, 18K gold original HC with flat front body of mandolin being the outer lid over mvt and having black and blue enamel inlay as well as inset sapphires, emeralds, rubies and pearls, curved rear of mandolin is the spring-loaded lid over dial and has black and blue enamel inlay among beautiful engraving detail, signed gold cuvette, white enamel dial with gold foil minute numerals, SW-pin-set, cylinder escapement, 10J, wolf's tooth winding, nickel damascene, s#45632. Gross weight of assembled watch 15.6 dwt (24.3 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, some marring tight around stem detent screw, some scattered fine scratches, some toning of plate surfaces; dial flawless in visible portion; fine hands; case shows hardly any wear, some toning to front body of mandolin, darkened spot to rear headstock of mandolin adjacent the chain's point of attachment, no dents or dings, excellent engraving detail, black and blue enameling is largely intact with some areas of loss, two emeralds are missing from front body of mandolin; crown shows very little wear; good glass crystal.
